Stanley is a peninsula on the South East part of Hong Kong Island. This area consists of two beaches - Stanley Main Beach and St Stephen's. Swimming is possible thanks to a number of netted areas that protect swimmers from the sharks that frequent this area. Stanley has a plethora of restaurants and bars and is very busy over weekends. The market is well worth a visit as is the pier (see picture) built in 2006. This photograph was taken late afternoon.
